Based on (mostly) true events, SKIN is the story of Knight and BB. It is the story of how a good girl, from a good home, with good intentions and even better grades, managed to get herself mixed up in every bad thing imaginable. It is about love and loss and learning that in this life, looks can be deceiving.

BB Easton is a complete and utter bada** for writing this awesome book. It was a hard read. I mean, some parts were easy. Some parts warmed my heart and made me laugh and were so beautiful. But the rest was raw and real and ugly and unbearably sad. I’ve honestly never read a book like this.
After reading Easton’s "44 Chapters about 4 Men," I thought I had a fairly good idea of how this story was going to go. I was wrong. The info from the 44 Chapters book was equivalent to setting up the four corner pieces of jigsaw puzzle and leaving the rest of the picture with its 126 other pieces missing. Needless to say, this book had a lot–A LOT–of surprises. For example, BB isn’t the same person in this book as she was in the previous one. Here she’s younger, more vulnerable, and like many 15-year-old girls, she’s insecure about her body and new to the idea of boys. BB goes through a lot of growth in this book, and most of it comes from learning some very hard lessons from

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! This book was so good, so angsty, but in a completely realistic way. This book took me back to my high school years and how the bad boys were always so good at turning on the charm, even the scary-as-hell ones. This book has me listening to this book’s playlist and all my Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden CDs (I throw nothing away) like I’m having a mid-life crisis and going back in time to my high school days. Do yourself a favor, get a comfortable chair, put on the Spotify playlist for this book, and plan to not get out of that chair until this book is done. Yes, it was that good!
This is Knight’s story, but I also feel like it was BB’s story and August’s story and Juliet’s story. These are the 4 characters I really felt major feels for and for what they went through. These characters could be people I went to high school with and I felt for every single one of them.
Knight – Where do I even start? You were a product of your crappy upbringing

After reading 44 Chapters I expected a sort of quirky romance that reflected all of BBs special talents of making us giggle. Thats not what I got. What I got was a brutal, honest recollection of experiencing high school as a Generation X-er. What I got was a story about firsts. First friends. First kisses. First loves. First heartbreaks (Lets not forget about first tattoos and first piercings, as I’m sure we see those everyday when we look in the mirror anyway). If you grew up in the 90s, chances are you were that girl: skinny, awkward, and looking for love whilst still trying to prove your independence and individuality. I related to every feeling BB portrayed and devoured every bit of the delicious torture of all these first feelings.
This was definitely a step away from 44 Chapters. While the humor was still there,
“I averted my eyes quickly before it sensed my fear and attacked"
we get a much deeper and darker version of the events that took
