Description Of Book Playing Patience: Blow Hole Boys, Book 1 by Tabatha Vargo:

Life’s been hard for Zeke. Being a punching bag for his alcoholic father has turned him into stone. Not even the dodgy trailer park he lives in can scare him. Fighting is his release and sex, drugs, and his guitar bring him peace, but deep down Zeke isn’t quite as hard as he makes himself out to be. When he meets Patience, she finds all his broken pieces and puts him back together. She’s a ray of light in his shadowed life and the last thing he wants to do is bring her into his dark world. Playing careless is easy, playing the bad guy can be fun, but playing Patience is impossible, especially when she can see right through him.

Zeke isn’t the only one who’s broken, and for the first time in a long time, Patience feels alive. Her black and white world gets a shot of color when she meets Zeke. With his tattoos, piercings, and blunt honesty, he’s unlike anyone she’s ever met. She wants nothing more than to let go and ride the wild side with him, but some wounds never heal and the broken pieces of Patience aren’t so easy to find.

Top Reader Reviews :

I got sucked into this story and had a hard time putting it down. Though the story was worthy of 4 or 5 stars, the writing was closer to 2 stars. There were some editing errors, especially in the latter part, and the repetition of scenes/lines when switching character voices grated on my nerves. I liked the characters for the most part, but felt distanced from them. I think this was partially due to the darker subjects, as well as the writing style. There was a lot of emotion to sift through, and often it felt lobbed at the reader versus making me feel it myself. Also there were moments/scenarios that didn’t make sense and really seemed to be done out of convenience, abs it inevitably took me from the story. The final few chapters felt extremely rushed and jumbled. So much emotion and detail was glazed over, and I finished a bit disappointed. Sexy scene wise I’d say it’s okay. There’s definitely heat, but not really any fire for me. My major complaint though is the ending. The way the

I have been waiting for a book like this for a while! If you read any of my previous reviews you will see that I like my reviews short, sweet and right to the point. You may also notice that I always comment on the sex scenes. Personally I like to know if the book has the sex appeal in the story that represents the fine coverand I will say for this book YES! But, I can’t start there so, I will start with this.
The way the book started out I automatically thought there is no way the author can write about a very heavy subject manner and still have hot, sexy love scenes between the two main characters and boy, I was wrong. The author took such a serious almost too painful topic and addressed it with such a well manner, I truly applaud her. These are two very damaged character who endure a great deal in life. What I love the most is the author did not spend page after page having the characters over analyze each and every thought, feeling, and movement. They dealt with

‘I knew I was no longer the girl I used to be. The broken parts of me were on the mend and his soul was the glue that would hold them all together.’

Oh holy intensity, that was way darker & messed up than I anticipated. This book deals with some deeply screwed up issues. Abuse of all kinds, drug use (both intentional & forced), underage drinking & generally self-destructive behavior. It was a complete & total hott mess. Painful, funny, sexy & frustrating, I don’t even know where to start with this. I don’t really want to say too much, you really have to experience all the ins & outs of this story as it happens to feel the full impact. Both Zeke & Patience were very broken individuals, for very different reasons, they just dealt with it in very different ways.

‘Outsiders would never know that behind closed doors my life was hell. I was well likedand a soccer star, but I was a broken porcelain doll, cracked beyond repair and tossed in the back of a closet.’
